IL- 25 , invoice with ambiguous effects on the microenvironment surrounding the breast cancer tumors

This journal club was held in the central auditorium of Immunology, Asthma, and Allergy Research Institute on Wednesday 4 November, 2015

Mahdieh Shokrollahi, one of the researchers of Immunology, Asthma, and Allergy Research Institute was the presenter of this journal club and started the session with reviewing the article published by Saori Furuta in which the effect of IL-25 in the induction of apoptosis in cancer cells was discussed.  Then, similar articles in supports and opposed to this survey were reviewed. Afterward, reports of a similar research from Semnan University of Medical Sciences were stated.
She explained the contradictory and complex effects of IL-25 in the tumor microenvironment and its role
in formation of different breast cancer cell lines. “Considering the fact that normal cells surrounding the tumor mass are responsible for production of these cytokines, more studies can be carried out regrading the cancer immunotherapy with cytokines.” She said
